August Goetze purchased the Baltimore Chewing Gum Company five generations ago in 1895 – but don’t let the name mislead you – candy was his business. Goetze’s passion ultimately led him to focus on perfecting a single, signature product. With soft, chewy caramel wrapped around a sweet fondant center, Caramel Creams® were born. Their unique taste has been delighting candy fans ever since – and setting the standard for consistent quality in the American candy business. In the early 1980’s, Cow Tales®, a new twist on the classic Caramel Creams® was launched. It’s long, thin cylinder of soft caramel with a cream center was a hit with young and old. Both Caramel Creams® and Cow Tales® are available in Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Caramel Apple flavors. In 2009 Goetze’s introduced a newly fortified Gourmet Caramel Creams®. Double Chocolate is fortified with calcium while the Licorice is fortified with both calcium and fiber.

As Goetze’s Candy Company, we have enjoyed more than a century of customer satisfaction. From horse and cart deliveries in downtown Baltimore, Goetze’s cooks and processes candy daily, for shipments all over the globe.
